So I LOVE Michele Ward's blog, it is so colourful and inspiring, and while lurking in the mist as I have been for a while now I have started reading blogs again. I saw Michelle's post on a new challenge here, and thought it might be a spur as was so easy and inviting - just the confidence boost I needed. So Michelle suggested that you find things from your stash, and I have been working on some wedding invites for the SIL and this red was the basis along with the flower cut out from vintage dictionary. But then I was found wanting - little stash to hand being that I am in the mist, so grabbed a magazine and found a few bits.
So this is what I did. I thought I didn't have much in the magazine, but with fresh eyes I found more this evening.Detail

I also found a whole new set of things in my fav turquoise and so am setting to a collage as per Michelle's instructions too. All this is to dip my toe in as I have signed up for this :
Judy Scott - such a good friend, backed up Deb's fab advice to go to the sketchbook - sounds like that Mafia quote - "Go to the mattresses" and so I have with a big brave step :)

Carol - super cool! Love your interpretation of grid. Love that you explained some of the material is remnants from a project, and some are from a magazine. Love that you put on *new eyes* when browsing through....and that you scarfed up enough stuff to make another one in turquoise. YAY! Bravo for coming to play!!!! Thanks for sharing with the team!
Loving the colors and the grids. I just found Michelle's blog tonight and I'm getting inspired by those who have already started posting their journal pages for Grid Lock! wow!
These are awesome Carol you'll have no problem filling your sketchbook :) xxx
Thanks for your link, I enjoyed looking at the prevous sketchbooks, and good luck with your project.
Love it! It looks like you're back on your way again.
Wonderful! Really enjoyed your use of the numbers and in breaking the grid in such a delicious way!
ooh!! This is really cool, and I can't even tell what it really is. LOL. I love it though.
love your grid - really dynamic - thanks for the link to Michelle's challenge, it gave me food for thought as my sketchbook project theme is lines and grids. Glad you're doing the sketchbook project too :-)
Fabulous red - so warm at this time of year (early/mid winter here and a nasty bite in the wind). What a good idea to grab some magazines and find what you need.
And as for making invites for your SIL - what a lovely thing to do :-)
What an interesting grid page! I love the monochromatic feel and it's fun to look at all the little bits.
Cheers,
Sophie
Great colours & patterns linked together - I really like the mix of sizes on your grid page too - I would never have thought of that:)
