Still stuck!

I wish I could get out of this pit/ mental block/ arggggggg!!!!! I am finding the less I do the less I want to do. I haven't even done any drawing o late - shocking. I wish I knew what was wrong. I have a lot on my mind and a fair bit on my plate too, but usually that is the very time when I get masses done, as I can hide in my art. But not so at the mo. I did this sketch book spread for my new armour project a fortnight ago and have done NOTHING since. What am I to do? My course doesn't have all the funding it needs and we have to raise £2600 this year and next. This is supposedly being done by selling our art work, now I can't see this being achieved, that is contributing to my lack of drive I think, maybe!

I vow to sew tonight, and try to get a grip! Of my commitments if nothing else! Hope everyone else is having a better time of it. Thanks for all your comments, they really lift me. I am ridiculously down, not my usual form at all, hopefully I will sort my head soon, I think Lynda and carol's new course will be a good thing for that.

mojo's still there and hasn't abandoned you at all. These are super Carol and a good spring board so take a deep breath give yourself permission to have a break and i'm sure it will all come good.

Lovely pieces. Stress can freeze you up but just doing something/anything can break through it. I usually just slash and rejoin fabric.

I think we all have times when the creative juices trickle rather than flow, but your armour pages are wonderful. I'm sure if you start by just doing a little something everyday the passion will be reignited.

There seems to be a lot of this horrible feeling about Carol. It sounds as though you have a lot of pressure at the minute so it's not surprising that you feel low. How about a complete change of scene for a day? Something just for you, no pressure to produce anything, just a "me" day or even half day. Squeeze in some switched off time.

Carol - join the club!!!! I sooooo understand where you are at right now - I have been there since July - finishing the HH course and then losing my job sent me into the same state. I have been struggling ever since. ANyway your armour piece looks great so do keep going - it can only get better!!

Oh dear. I do know how that feels. Creativity does go in cycles, so it will return. Hopefully soon! I do love that red and the heraldric imagery, though, you've got a good start!

Hang in there my friend -- maybe play with some simple postcards or ATCs or even smaller, Inchies. I'll vow to do the same -- we'll challenge each other back into a more productive place (maybe?)...BTW your armour piece look great!

I'm curious -- what is Lynda & carol's new course? or is it 2 different courses?

I've been looking atthis name for a bitwondering where I got you from and all is now clear!
Just do a bit of mindless stitching...some cnavas work is quite good o get you going again..or make a little piece on the sewing machine..or better still watch a DVD such as one of the Odessey series with Jan Beaney or Jean Littlejohn.

I love your pieces Carol. I have been feeling the same as you lately. The other day I decided to do a bit of traditional piecing and it has certainly helped. I just find other things to do in the meantime and try not to force myself to be creative - it never works for me.
